Trackunit says new IoT device 鈥榤akes leap鈥
14 February 2024
Trackunit has launched a new generation IoT tracking device for construction equipment and said it would 鈥減rolong the life of machines significantly鈥.
The Danish company said the TU700 will provide equipment OEMs and owners with more data on their machines and enable equipment sharing on sites when used in tandem with its K300 access control system.

鈥淲ith TU700, we鈥檙e bringing new machine data to the forefront, enhancing machine integration, and layering in insights through advanced Edge onboard processing,鈥 said L忙rke Ullerup, Trackunit鈥檚 chief marketing and products officer.
鈥淐ustomers are asking for more data and this is an incredibly powerful, IoT-led dynamic that will help off-highway companies make better, multi-million dollar design decisions.鈥
Trackunit said the TU700 was compatible with current and future platform services and had 10 times the embedded product capability of previous devices.
鈥淭his is an IoT-led solution that is designed to adapt and evolve with future OEM services and is specifically engineered for the construction industry鈥, said Ullerup, 鈥淲e鈥檙e confident it will prolong the life of machines significantly.鈥
The device offers global roaming, long-range Bluetooth support, and Wi-Fi ready capabilities, along with new self-service CAN configuration for equipment OEMs to collect and analyse machine data.
Users will be able to establish two-way communications with machines on site, enabling operating characteristics to be defined remotely to maximise productivity. It will also allow for over-the-air updates for OEM ECU software.
Ullerup said the device represented a 鈥渘otable technological leap鈥, adding; 鈥淎s we unlock new data, it ensures even your most complex equipment is connected, greatly increasing your control over in-the-field decisions and improving your revenue baseline.
鈥淚n the long term, this will help the industry in its battle to eliminate downtime and help restore the reputation of construction as a force for good in the world.鈥
