The funding is being coordinated with Polskie Elektrownie J膮drowe (PEJ), a special-purpose entity fully owned by Poland鈥檚 State Treasury.

The construction project鈥檚 main US partners include energy giants Westinghouse and Bechtel, which have been involved in planning and support strategies since 2022.

The Westinghouse AP1000 reactor technology has been selected to power the Lubiatowo-Kopalino plant, located in the northern Choczewo municipality.

Poland鈥檚 Ministry of Climate and Environment recently issued a decision-in-principle to greenlight the reactor鈥檚 commercial operation by 2033.

Agnes Dasewicz, DFC鈥檚 head of investments, said, 鈥淒FC is dedicated to enhancing energy security across Central and Eastern Europe. Our involvement here aims to reduce dependence on Russian energy while simultaneously promoting economic growth and job creation.鈥
